Beery VMI-6

Beery VMI Developmental Test of Visual-Motor Integration 6th Edition

Keith E. Beery, Ph.D. , Norman A. Buktenica , Natasha A. Beery

Measures the extent to which individuals can integrate their visual and motor abilities

Overview

The Beery VMI measures the extent to which individuals can integrate their visual and motor abilities. It is commonly used to identify children who are having significant difficulty with visual-motor integration and to determine the most appropriate course of action. The Beery VMI is suitable for respondents with diverse environmental, educational, and linguistic backgrounds. Additionally, the test can be used as an outcome measure to assess the effectiveness of education and intervention programs.

Now in its sixth edition, the Beery VMI includes updated norms for ages 2 through 18. Adult norms are also included for age 19 and above, but were not updated. Updated reports of medical, neuropsychological, international, and other important advances in the use of the Beery VMI in recent years have also been included.

In this edition, the child and adult forms have been combined into one, making it more convenient for those who work with clients of varying ages. Existing forms can continue to be used since the test content has not changed, however, a new Beery VMI, 6th Edition manual should be ordered to obtain the most up-to-date information.
