The ABS-S:2 scale is a two-part, widely used assessment of adaptive behavior in children ages 3 to 18 who are being evaluated for Mental Retardation, Autism, and/or behavior disorders. The child or adolescent being evaluated can be assessed in 15 to 30 minutes.
Part One features nine behavior domains and evaluates adaptive behaviors considered important to personal responsibility and dependent living. Part Two features four behavior domains that assess social adaptations and maladaptive behavior.
