Copublished with APPI, the SSPQ and SSPQ–X for Windows® probe an individual’s DSM-IV™ Axis I symptoms. These cost-effective screening tools provide brief, optional tutorials and supplementary explanation screens to assist respondents. You choose the categories for which to screen. With automatic branching, questions are skipped when symptoms are not endorsed. Reports can be imported into a word processing program to provide documentation for billing, managed care, or to be integrated with forensic reports, peer reviews, consultations, or clinical records.
The SSPQ–X provides more detail and reduces the number of false positives. It distinguishes between substance abuse and dependency, and includes questions for each type of drug. It examines mood disorders and anxiety disorders due to a general medical condition, as well as the melancholic subtype of depression.
