J. Douglas Salmon Jr., Ph.D.
J. Douglas Salmon Jr., Ph.D. is a registered psychologist and consultant in the areas of neuropsychological assessment, neurovocational evaluation, and neurorehabilitation of brain-injured patients, as well as in the evaluation and treatment of general injury population. In addition to his Ph.D. in psychology, he holds an M.A. in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling and an Honors B.A. in Economics. He has held senior administrative and clinical positions overseeing brain injury, pain management, psychosocial treatment programs, and multidisciplinary assessment services. His firm currently consults to numerous facilities, providing psychological and neuropsychological services as well as disability-related employability/earnings capacity assessment. Dr. Salmon also provides the neuropsychological services for the Whitby Mental Health Centre. He was a member of the Residual Earnings Capacity Designated Assessment Centre (DAC) and the Development Committee for the Ontario Insurance Commission (OIC). Currently, he chairs the OIC's Mental and Behavioral Disorder Catastrophic (DAC) Committee and chairs the Treatment Guidelines Development Sub-Committee of the Ontario Psychological Association's MVA Task Force. Dr. Salmon is actively involved in research pertaining to the above areas and has developed numerous educational, testing, and software resources, including The Rehabilitation Education and Coping Series, Neuropsychological Results and Tips, Headache Poster Series, Dizziness Poster Series, Rehabilitation Survey of Problems and Coping, Pre-Post Condition Life Event Survey, and Rehabilitation Activities of Daily Living Survey.
