The MVPT-3 is an updated version of the Motor-Free Visual Perception Test-Revised (MVPT-R), utilizing both the original test plates and new test plates that provide additional challenges for those over age 11. The MVPT-3 assesses individuals’ (ages 4 to 70+) visual perceptual ability, without any motor involvement needed to make a response. It is especially useful with those who may have learning, motor, or cognitive disabilities.
This measure is designed to be used for screening, diagnostic, and research purposes by teachers, psychologists, occupational therapists, educational specialists, optometrists, and others who may need a quick, reliable and valid measure of overall visual perceptual ability in children and adults.Back to the top How to Use the Asssessment
The MVPT-3 is individually administered and takes approximately 25 minutes to complete. It follows a horizontal, multiple-choice item format. Test plates are contained in one convenient book with an easel back. Test administration cues are provided on the record form to facilitate testing. Raw scores are quickly converted to standard scores and percentile ranks. Optional response time data identifies whether an individual’s responses are significantly delayed. Back to the top
