GAF Report for Windows®
The Global Assessment of Functioning Scale

Michael B. First, M.D.

Description

The GAF Report for Windows® program helps you assess clients on the DSM-IV™ Global Assessment of Functioning Scale (Axis V). It is a 100-point scale that measures a client’s overall level of psychological, social, and occupational functioning on a hypothetical continuum. The decision tree guides you through a methodical and comprehensive consideration of all aspects of the respondent’s symptoms and functioning.

Use the 'current or past week' rating to indicate current management needs, the 'at discharge' rating to document progress and quality of care, and the 'highest level in past year' rating as a target for termination of treatment. The GAF Report is particularly useful for managed care-driven diagnostic evaluations to determine eligibility for treatment and disability benefits and to delineate the level of care required for clients.

On completion of the GAF Report, a 10-point range is automatically determined. Explanation screens provide clarification of specific questions throughout the assessment. A report can be produced immediately after an assessment.

The GAF Report is an unlimited-use program. You can administer, score, and generate reports an unlimited number of times on one computer; however, if the program is installed on a network, the number of users of the program at one time is limited to the number of installations that have been purchased. Contact MHS for network or multiple installation pricing.
